Always scored goals: I will be surprised if he is not in the team.He should at least be on the subs bench. Good in the dressing room and organising nights out.

How much would he be worth in the transfer market today? Would he be the most expensive Ruglonian ? Would it be higher that the 9.5 million pounds paid by Moscow for McGeady or the 850, 000 paid by Barcelona for Archibald. If you were a manager making a bid, how much would you be prepared to pay for him ?

Natural finisher. Could score goals for fun. I think he was a Fernhill boy. Once scored the winner in a cup final at Shawfield . Does anybody remember the game, the score the teams, etc etc, Does anyone have a photo of John that they can upload to the site.

Carrots was a goal scorer. He was Rutherglens answer to Dixie Deans. Played for lots of local teams. Put the ball in the penalty box and he would score. Local legend. Was just slightly quicker than Giorgie Samaras. Still see John in the Main Street now and again. Not sure if he is involved in football nowadays.
